As a business leader, motivating your team should always be high on your agenda. A team that is happy will work harder for you and stay with you for longer. And, a lower staff turnover will, in turn, save you money. So, when it comes to rewarding the performance of your staff and making them feel appreciated, it should be a no-brainer.
So, what can you do to show your team that you appreciate them?
Read on for some great ideas that your staff will absolutely love.
Give Your Team Medals, Trophies, or Coins
Having something made up like a trophy or a commemorative coin from Challenge Coins Ltd will show your team that you value their achievements. Celebrate the successes of your team by giving them prizes for outstanding effort in a particular area of business.
Create a Wall of Fame
The wall of fame is a time-honored way of celebrating the successes of your team. Put up photos of the team members that are doing well in particular areas of the business. Make sure you change these regularly and try to find ways of having the same faces up on the wall week after week.
Put Your Staff On Your Website
Many companies have a section about their team on their website. Avoid just filling this with top-level staff. Instead, mix it up and include a variety of staff members from across the board. You may not be able to fit your entire team on, but having a mix of levels will show that you value your team whatever their position.
Extend Your Appreciation Further
It’s one thing telling your team that you appreciate them, but showing the world that you think that your team are great is another thing. Take to social media and celebrate the members of your team that you believe deserve recognition. Alternatively, you could also recognize your team by praising them in the local press. This will double as an advertisement for your company too.
Give Your Staff Treats For No Reason
Give your employees treats for the sake of treats. That might mean treating them all to pizza for lunch, or dropping some cakes in the break room for everyone to enjoy.
Throw a Celebration
Why not celebrate everything with your team? Someone’s birthday? Cause for a celebration. Hit your targets? Celebration drinks. Weekend? Celebrate again… Social activities such as celebrations are a great way of getting your team to bond with each other.
Give Career Based Rewards
While you may not be able to give payrises often for great performance, and there are only going to be so many promotions that you could ever give, there are other career based rewards that you could offer up as a thank you to your team. Think about offering up the prospect of doing some additional training as a reward, maybe send your team members on a course if they come top of the leaderboard each month.
