Teenagers can be great, but they can also be pretty expensive. Between completing extra curricular activities and going out with their friends, it can all really add up. So if you've decided that you want your teen to earn their own money (or hey, maybe they've even decided for themselves that they'd like to earn some extra cash) there are tons of great online jobs for teens that will get them some dough without even having to leave the house.

These online jobs range from talent specific (like freelance writing or graphic design) to jobs that pretty much anyone could do (like taking surveys online), so there's bound to be something to fit every teen's style. And once they start earning, not only will it alleviate some of the costs, but it will also teach them the important lesson of the value of a dollar — a true win win.

Call Reviewer

Companies like Humanatic will pay to have customer service calls reviewed and rated based on helpfulness, friendliness, etc. All your teen will need is a Paypal account to receive their payment. The pay isn't super high, but it's enough to make a little extra spending money.

Owner of an Online Store

If your teen has a skill like embroidery, crocheting, or crafting, and they want to capitalize it, they can open and run their own online store. Sites like Etsy are perfect for selling homemade goods.

Freelance Writer

Teens with excellent writing chops can make some extra money freelance writing for magazines, newspapers, and online publications. The need for freelance writers spans from personal essays to news coverage to creative writing, so there's sure to be something out there that your teen would be the perfect fit for. They can get their start by sending story ideas and writing samples to the editors of the publications they would like to write for.

Graphic Designer

Artistic teens with a talent for graphic design can offer freelance services on sites like Fiverr. They'll be able to list their services and attract clients for a variety of assignments.

Proofreader

Fiverr is also a great resource for teens with a keen eye for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. They can get work as a professional proofreader, reading over other people's work and checking for mistakes.

Survey Taker

Taking surveys online is a quick and easy way for a teen to earn some extra cash, since companies are constantly wanting feedback. Sites like Swagbucks provide you with surveys to take, and they allow participants to be as young as 13 years of age.

Tutor

High schoolers and college freshmen with good grades and even better teaching abilities can make a decent amount of cash tutoring other students online. Your teen can offer their services by posting online or putting up flyers at school. They can also apply to work with tutoring sites like Tutors.com, although those typically require your teen to have already earned their high school diploma.

Ad Watcher

We all know advertising pays, but you may not know you can get directly paid for watching ads. On sites like Jingit, anyone over the age of 13 can rake in some dough by simply watching ads online. Qmee is a similar site but is only open to those over the age of 18.
