Keeping your work engine on track when life seems fraught with fragile decisions can be difficult. Which is why I'm writing this - and you're reading this.
Follow the tips below to reduce anxiety about wasted time, and dearJulius.com guarantees a better workday.
Reduce idle-time on the Internet.
You know how it is. You log on, just to 'check your Facebook'. Just as you are logging out, an interesting picture, or link or status update. And minutes later, you have opened seven different windows in your browser. That's seven times the distraction.
Pure Focus
You might think that it's something very Nazi about pure, focused, undistracted work. But by creating this bubble of efficiency, you are eliminating the lethargic attitude people sometime have to work. It's like getting up early in the morning. After getting through those few awful minutes after the 5 AM alarm, it doesn't seem that bad.
Get rid of useless rituals
For many, it's the need to read the paper, check the mail, update on the gossip. What started out as interesting stuff to distract from the mundane at work slowly grows into a ritual, wasting more time, and getting less done. And just like opening different browser windows on the Internet, you have opened different windows of useless thought.Define your Goals. If you don't define what you want to achieve, you won't know why you're doing a particular task. So define your goal. You'll automatically start thinking of ways to achieve it. If it's unrealistic, scrap it.
